Best furniture stores Connecticut shoppers use after a Greenwich move are the Greenwich Avenue showrooms plus a couple of online carts that can land before the moving truck. City apartments do not have enough sofas, beds, or outdoor furniture for a real house. If you wait for every custom lead time, you will eat standing up for two months.

Walkable in one afternoon if you park once
RH Greenwich is now a three-building campus on the Avenue: the Historic Post Office gallery at 310 Greenwich, RH Outdoor at 264, and RH Estates at 265, the old Ralph Lauren Beaux-Arts building. Estates is 20,000 square feet over two levels, antiques mixed with RH, and Cucina Angelina, an 88-seat Italian restaurant that opened as RH’s first Italian kitchen in North America. Gary Friedman threw the opening party in Greenwich the night before the September 2026 earnings call. Locals still joke about how many RH stores one avenue needs. Sit on the sofas anyway. Then go sit on Arhaus before you sign a custom order.

abc home at 181 Greenwich Avenue, 12,500 square feet, rugs plus furniture. Useful if you miss the city store and do not want to schlep back to Broadway.

The stopgap that saves the first month

Custom sofas from the Avenue can run 12–20 weeks. Meanwhile you have a 20-foot living room and two kids doing homework on the floor. Order an in-stock sofa and dining table, then spend the Avenue time on the pieces you will keep.
What I tell NYC families
Your Manhattan sofa will look like a loveseat here. Measure the room after furniture is out of the old apartment, not from memory. Greenwich rooms are bigger. Rugs too. Buy the rug last so you stop pretending the 8x10 still works. r/Greenwich and r/furniture both warn that RH looks better in the gallery than it lasts with kids and dogs. If you want a durability check, Room & Board in the city is still the comparison shop people name. Use Greenwich Avenue to decide scale. Use a second brand to decide construction.
